In Brazil there aren’t barriers to keep us from mixing the classical with the popular, because music is something spontaneous. Here in Brazil, the radio plays many types of music, and a lot from outside the country too: funk, rock, we hear it all. Yet, when it comes time to make Brazilian funk, you still feel that root of samba, the thing half-mixed, that Brazilian personality.
