The myth poem recitation on "Illustrium" is by Joseph Jarman.
On "Illistrium" the bass sax is by Roscoe Mitchell and the gongs, percussion and vocal effects are by all the musicians.
On "The Key" the vocals are by The Art Ensemble of Chicago.
Guest artist: Muhal Richard Abrams, pianist, composer, teacher, originator of the Experimental Band, a co-founder of the AACM and the AACM School of Music, has recorded three albums of his own music on Delmark Records and is featured on two recent Atlantic albums by Eddie Harris "Instant Death" and "Excursions".

The work on the compositions in this album made possible through a grant from The National Endowment For The Arts.. Recording engineer: Christian Sabold Producer: Michael Cuscuna This record was recorded at Paragon Studios, on September 5th, 1973 and previously released as Atlantic SD 1651 on April 8th, 1974.
